“The art of Jack Beder (1910-1987) reveals the world through the hand of a confident visionary. Beder created an important body of work between the 1930s and 1980s, including magnificent representations of Montreal street and social scenes.

A key figure of the Jewish Painters of Montreal group of artists, Beder worked across media with a strength of technique that paired with his sharp eye for original subject matter.  His insightful depictions explore the human condition, elevating the people and places of everyday life through the light and colours of our surroundings.

Beder is an artists’ artist and a distinguished part of Canadian art history.  His works are keenly sought after for their truth by collectors and art appreciators alike.”

“Jack Beder's legacy is not just that of an artist but of an explorer who seamlessly merged his experiences with his artistic expressions. He painted a canvas that was as vast and varied as the landscapes he traversed, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire.”
